We are a group of retired professionals who have lived, or currently live, in homeowners association (HOA) communities across the country. Drawing from decades of combined experience in management, finance, governance, and community living, we have united around a shared purpose: to help HOA communities achieve fair, effective, and responsible leadership.

Our organization was founded on the belief that HOA boards of directors play a vital role in shaping the quality of life and long-term value of their communities. When boards function as they should, transparently, responsibly, and in the best interests of all homeowners they protect property values, foster community pride, and create neighborhoods people are proud to call home.

Our Mission

Our mission is to assist homeowners associations nationwide in recognizing and addressing the challenges that arise from poorly performing boards of directors. We provide insights, educational resources, and guidance to help residents hold their boards accountable, encourage better governance practices, and restore trust within their communities.

The Importance of a Strong Board of Directors

An effective HOA board of directors serves as the backbone of a thriving community.
When operating properly, a board:

• Manages community finances responsibly, protecting reserves and avoiding unnecessary fees.

• Enforces community standards fairly and consistently.

• Plans for long-term maintenance and improvements that enhance neighborhood appeal.

• Promotes communication and transparency among residents.

• Ultimately helps increase property and resale values, ensuring the community remains desirable to both current and future homeowners.​

When Boards Fall Short

Unfortunately, not all HOA boards meet these standards. When a board acts without transparency, mismanages funds, or fails to represent homeowners fairly, the entire community suffers.
Consequences may include:

• Declining property values and market reputation.

• Deteriorating infrastructure or maintenance neglect.

• Erosion of homeowner trust and community spirit.

• Legal disputes, special assessments, and unnecessary conflict.

We believe that no community should have to endure the negative effects of poor leadership. Our goal is to help homeowners recognize the signs, understand their rights, and work toward positive, constructive change.

Our Commitment

We are not affiliated with any management company or legal firm. Our only focus is on strengthening communities by promoting integrity, accountability, and transparency in HOA governance. Through education, advocacy, and experience, we aim to ensure that every HOA board serves the homeowners they represent — not themselves. We affirm that the homeowners, being members of the association, are ultimately in charge of their community. They elect board members and can also recall board members.
